Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a type of preventive, holistic healthcare that focuses on the function and vitality of your spine and nervous system. Chiropractors detect spinal a misalignment, also known as subluxations, which cause pressure and stress to the nervous system. Subluxations have a negative effect on the body that can lead to inflammation, eventually causing pain and dysfunction.

Pain is the body’s warning sign that there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Chiropractic adjustments can decrease subluxations and as a result maintain health and wellness. With a functioning nervous system the side effects include decrease illness, decrease use of some medication, decrease pain and improved bio-mechanical function.

How Does Chiropractic Work?

Chiropractic adjustment is specific to a joint that has restricted range of motion. This lack of motion can cause inflammation, pain, and nerve interference. Since the nerves and spinal cord are housed in the spine, the lack of proper function can cause several neurological and bio-mechanical deficits.

By adjusting the spine, messages from the joints, muscles, and nerves travel to the brain and stimulate areas of the brain that can improve our body’s overall function. As a result, the body’s nervous system is more balanced and can function the way that it was designed to without outside interventions.

Chiropractic For The Family

No matter the age or condition, all of us encounter trauma and stress throughout our life, even starting at birth, which is why it is so important to get adjusted starting as early as possible, so the body has a healthy, functioning foundation as we grow and our body changes. Chiropractic care during pregnancy has shown to decrease labor time. Gentle, specific adjustments can allow for a smoother and easier pregnancy by balancing the pelvis and giving baby the opportunity for the best positioning.

X-Ray Analysis

Dr. Ashlock will take x-rays in the office. This is vital because it gives the chiropractor another piece of the puzzle in order to come to an accurate diagnosis of your problem. X-Rays are taken on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all the history, symptoms, and personal factors the patient presents. The combination of patient history, personal factors, examination findings and x-ray findings (if necessary) are tools we use to diagnose your problem and design the proper plan of care. Dr. Justin Ashlock says, “X-Rays are important because to not know is to guess, and I will never guess about your health.”
